During the warmer months, a regular passenger brings me at least one flower a day. The bus air makes them a little wilty a little faster but they are a welcome dashboard adornment.
Today a man who works 6-7 days a week told me they get 2 weeks “off” at Christmas for repairs and maintenance at the factory. He said that many people can’t afford to be off for that long, so they ask to get shuffled into another part of the facility. He works an additional job to cover. He says his rent was recently raised to $1500/mo, and it’s a shitty place. No one can afford to live here.
I wish the woman who is (loudly) very generous with her money would also not be loudly homophobic (or quietly homophobic?).
A kid, maybe 11, was trying to walk alongside traffic where there’s no sidewalk. He looked terrified. At that particular spot, you’re pinned between 45mph vehicles and the guardrail of a bridge. Maybe a foot and a half total to work with. I’d like to see one of the members of city council attempt to give that walk a go, it would be addressed overnight, pedestrian bridge and all. No one should have to risk their life to get to the grocery store.
Today I almost flipped off a guy in a van who flipped me off while pulling out in front of me (a bus).
